A grand multi-media musical performance of children’s and youth choirs telling a story about the diverse and different worlds we live in and the bridges that connect us.
At the beginning of the concert, the best children’s/youth choirs from Estonia, the Czech Republic, England, Indonesia, Russia, and Belarus will offer a musical insight into their cultures. Combined Symphony Orchestra of Riga Music Schools conducted by Kaspars Ādamsons will perform Ādolfs Skulte’s Bolero from the Ballet Brīvības sakta and Valts Pūce’s composition Perpetum mobile.
The concert will continue with Uldis Marhilēvičs’/Guntars Račs’ new piece Crossing the Bridges, which conveys the message of accepting the different, letting love win over prejudice and internalizing the thoughts that lead to eternity. These thoughts are the true bridge between a person and the world. They allow us to become aware of the presence of the nature within ourselves and the surrounding world, and to merge the nature and technology in a magic harmony.
Performers at the concert: soloists Aminata and Daumants Kalniņš, DJ Monsta, saxophonist Oskars Petrauskis, accompanied by a group led by Kristaps Krievkalns, Latvia’s street dance artists.
Direction/costumes, choreography and video concept – Margo Zālīte.
Scenography – Kristaps Skulte.
